Vijay (Tamil: விஜய்), (born Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar on June 22, 1974) is a Tamil film actor and playback singer. He began his acting career doing many minor uncredited roles as a child artist, produced by his father S. A. Chandrasekhar.
Post-Thirumalai, he began portraying a commercial and stereotypical style, much like Rajinikanth and M. G. Ramachandran. Vijay has been described as "a silent champ" by Kamal Haasan. Vijay is also the current star ambassador for the IPL cricket team Chennai Super Kings and has also served several commercial companies as a brand ambassador.
